I know I was late to jump on the Oreo train, I had no idea I was missing the important birthday of the most important mass produced cookie of our time. One thing that I did learn was that the Oreo was first made in Manhattan, in the Nabisco factory, which is now the Chelsea Market. If you are ever in town, I highly recommend going to the Chelsea Market. They have maintained the old architecture of the Nabisco factory but now the first floor of the building is filled with restaurants and cafes, bakeries and boutiques. If the weather is cooperative, I recommend going to Chelsea Market to get lunch to go and then make the short walk to the famed High Line park. Ahhh, I digress. Anyway, the Oreo was made in NYC and then first sold in Hoboken (my current town)!
So I was reading the deluge of Oreo recipe posts and couldn’t pass up Bake at 350’s Birthday Cake Oreo Stuffed Brownies recipe. Plus, I had a few birthdays that needed celebrating so birthday cake Oreos seemed a perfect starting point. This recipe worked perfectly and the result was beautiful and scrumptious.
This picture does these brownies NO justice, please visit Bake at 350 to really see how it is done. I was really struggling to get something cute here, but it just didn’t pan out for me. Ahh well, live and learn. Two months ago, I wouldn’t have thought I would be even sharing my treats with all of you. Thanks for visiting!
