My husband and I are recent Dallas area transplants.  We are very active (usually Crossfit, yoga, hiking, and any new ways to sweat) and try to balance treats with quality fuel for our busy workdays and active life!  We also love to explore new places and usually end up doing that by seeking out the best food that a city has to offer.


I started this blog when I was in graduate school and in need of a fun outlet.  At the time, we lived in a little apartment in Hoboken, NJ (just across the Hudson River from Manhattan) and it was a very cold January so I just quickly came up with a name and typed up my first post.  I was (and still am) very inspired by all the wonderful food bloggers out there.  More recently, I’ve become better at creating my own recipes but regularly make recipes from blog posts and cookbooks.

After NJ, we had a short stint in Tucson, AZ.  It was very different from Hoboken in many respects: 115 degree summers, Saguaro cacti everywhere the eye can see, javelinas, and Sonoran Mexican food.  We came to embrace dining al fresco in January, fresh grapefruits from a tree in our backyard, and swimming after the sun has set in the hot summer.

Soon enough, life happened again and we moved to Dallas, TX.  We have spent our short time here taking weekend trips to Austin and jaunting around different parts of Dallas.

I usually like to share what I am cooking, eating, and some of my thoughts on food.  I prefer to avoid processed food and like to make as much as I can from scratch. I look forward to sharing the contents of my kitchen with you.
